Adapted from centuries-old Italian ceramics, the hand-painted dinnerware incorporates classic designs and the colors of the Italian coast-azure blue, salmon red, and earthy yellow-in mix-and-match possibilities that keep the collection fresh and never boring. This 20-piece set allows four friends to dine together, by containing four of each of the following: an 11-inch dinner plate with a spectacular blue border adorned with a scrolling leaf design; an 8-1/2-inch scalloped luncheon/salad plate in warm cream tones with yellow trim; 15-ounce soup/cereal bowl with a salmon interior and lavish blue fleur exterior; a blue-centered, 6-inch appetizer plate; and a yellow-handled pedestal mug that echoes patterns from the plates.

Introduced by Pfaltzgraff in 2004, Villa della Luna is inspired by scenes from Dancing with the Moon: A Story of Love at the Villa della Luna, by Jana Kolpen and Mary Tiegreen. The book is the sequel to The Secrets of Pistoulet: An Enchanted Fable of Food, Magic, and Love, set in southern France, the inspiration for Pfaltzgraff's Pistoulet dinnerware line.
